As the Sun dipped on the horizon over the Hussain Sagar Lake in Hyderabad on Wednesday, women perform Chhath Puja in reverence to the Sun God, for bestowing the bounties of life on Earth and sustaining it. Chhath falls immediately after Deepavali, and is prominent in the North of India. Devotees hope to gain pure mind and soul, that is held all over India at river and sea fronts during twilight of dusk. - Photos & Text: P.V. SIVAKUMAR
