India enters the final phase of polling for the Lok Sabha elections 2019 on May 19. The Kerala State election commission will conduct re-polling in four booths in north Kerala, where allegations of bogus voting had surfaced in the phase which concluded on April 23. Re-polling would be held in three booths in Kalliasseri in Kasaragod constituency and a booth in Taliparamba in Kannur, the commission said here in a release.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will pay a visit to Kedarnath and Badrinath on May 18 and 19 respectively. Post his visits, he will leave for Delhi on May 19, where the final phase of polling for the Lok Sabha elections 2019 will take place.  Modi has taken keen interest in the reconstruction work in Kedarnath and has often spoken to the state’s top government officials in this regard.

May 19 will be the last day of the bandh called by the Naxals in Maharashtra’s Gadchiroli district. This is to protest the killings of two fellow women in an encounter in April. In the banners that were displayed by them, the naxals had alleged that the killing of the two women cadres by security forces was an infringement of their constitutional rights.

Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao would be visiting Ramagundam and Kaleshwaram on May 18 and May 19.  He will be inspecting the Kaleshwaram irrigation project work at Medigadda and Kannepally, an official press release said here. He would also hold a review meeting with NTPC and TSGENCO officials there, the release said.

Australia gears up for the polls that are scheduled to take place on May 18. This comes after the death of Bob Hawke, the opposition Australia’s Labor party and the longest-serving Prime Minister, who had died on Thursday. The campaigns concluded with political leaders making their last big pitch to voters.
