Bankers Institute of Rural Development (BIRD), Mangaluru, conducted a three-day training programme on cashew for horticultural officers from different parts of the country from Wednesday. A press release from the institute said here that 72 horticultural officers from Central and State government departments participated in the programme. The programme covered topics such as cashew research, project preparation, development initiatives, processing, and inter-crops in cashew farming among others. This is a collaborative initiative between BIRD, Mangaluru, and Indian Council of Agricultural Research, it added.
