A tribunal, constituted for hearing cases pertaining to maintenance and welfare of parents and senior citizens, has directed a man to provide his father with Rs 2,000 every month so that he could meet his basic expenses.
Hearing an appeal from Sharan Singh, resident of New Industrial Township (NIT) in the district, a tribunal established under the Maintenance and Welfare of Parents and Senior Citizens Act, 2007, directed his son Amarjeet Singh to grant him a sum of Rs 2,000 per month.
The tribunal, headed by Sub Divisional Magistrate Sushil Saarwaan, asked Amarjeet to deposit this sum in a bank account on every 10th of a month.
