The governments of Himachal Pradesh and Punjab today signed an MOU for execution of the Shri Naina Devi-Anandpur Sahib Ropeway project to link the two shrines.
The MoU was signed by Dr K S Sra and Dr Arun Kumar, Director Tourism Punjab and Himachal Pradesh respectively on behalf of two governments in the presence of Chief Ministers of Punjab and Himachal, Mr Prakash Singh Badal and Mr P K Dhumal, respectively.
The ropeway with a span of 3,751 metres is estimated to cost about Rs 85 crore and out of total length, 3,476.435 metres area falls in Himachal while the remaining 274.582 metres Punjab and the two states would share the cost on 50:50 basis.
