Joe and Antony Russo are now onboard to direct a new Netflix original starring Ryan Gosling and Chris Evans.

The film is ‘ The Gray Man,’ is based on a 2009 Mark Greaney novel. The novel introduced the character of the Gray Man who is a freelance assassin and a former CIA operative, Deadline reported.

Joe Russo in collaboration with Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely have written the script for the movie. The duo had previously collaborated with the Russo brother for Marvel’s Captain America and Avengers films.

The budget for the Netflix original is likely to be over $200 million as per the report.

This is the second collaboration between the streaming giant and the Russo brothers. Previously, the duo had teamed up with Netflix for the film Extraction, starring Chris Hemsworth. The film became one of the most-watched Netflix originals this year and had gained 99 million viewers in the first 28 days of its release.

According to Netflix’s Q2 2020 earnings report, the platform has amassed over 10 million subscribers in the second quarter of the year. Overall it has gained 26 million subscribers in the first two quarters.
