Singer-composer Shankar Mahadevan today put out a recreation of his popular song ‘Breathless’ highlighting the flagship schemes of the government, with Prime Minister Narendra Modi praising his composition.
The song that has the theme of ‘Non-stop India’ keeps to the tune of Mahadevan’s 1990s hit composition ‘Breathless’ with the lyrics talking about India’s progress and various government schemes such as Jan Dhan Yojana, Startup India and Mudra Yojana.
“Non stop India! A tribute to our vibrant nation and the new heights of development we are scaling,” Mahadevan tweeted along with the song, and tagged the prime minister.
Responding to Mahadevan, the prime minister tweeted, “Lovely composition @Shankar_Live ! For many, it brings back memories of ‘Breathless’ Like your song, 125 crore Indians are working non-stop for India’s progress!”
Mahadevan has sung another song, ‘Ye Desh Meri Jaan’, for Doordarshan to mark India’s 72nd Independence Day.
Both the songs were being widely shared on social media.
