Vijay Sankar, Deputy Chairman, Sanmar Group, has been appointed Honorary Consul General for Denmark in Chennai, by Her Majesty the Queen of Denmark, with the concurrence of the Government of India, according to a press release from the Sanmar Group.
His consular district covers Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Kerala, Karnataka and the Union Territory of Puducherry. Vijay Sankar, succeeds his father N Sankar and grandfather KS Narayanan, who had earlier served as Honorary Consuls for Denmark in South India.
He holds a Masters in Business Administration from the JL Kellogg Graduate School of Management, Northwestern University, USA, and is also a qualified Chartered Accountant.
