Chinese economic growth edged up in the second quarter to reach 7.5 per cent year-on-year, official figures showed on Wednesday.
The figure matched the Chinese Government’s current target for annual GDP growth, and beat analysts’ expectations by 0.1 per cent.
Growth in the previous quarter was 7.4 per cent compared to the same period the previous year.
The National Statistics bureau said the economy had expanded by 7.4 per cent overall in the first half of the year compared to last year, Xinhua news agency reported.
