It’s fag end of the ongoing term; it’s also the time when placements are inching a bit too close; it’s year-end too, and like most people, students at IIM-Ahmedabad are in a festive spirit with their annual management festival – Chaos 2013.

The four-day long event now witnesses a footfall of over fifty thousand each year with students from over 80 institutes participating from across the country. This year’s theme for the festival is ‘Tribute to Indian Cinema’.

The event took off on December 26 with hundreds of participants flocking to the Vastrapur campus to attend Chaos. The festival was officially thrown open with an inauguration ceremony in the Louis Kahn Plaza. Day one came to close with heavy dose of rock music by the famous band Coshish.

Day Two saw a wide array of workshops hosted inside the campus. There was also a photography and painting exhibition, displaying the work of IIM-A students and the community. The business school offered an exciting day to the quizzers too with MELA (music, entertainment, literature, arts) quiz, biz quiz and Bollywood quiz.

The street play competition was won by team from Delhi’s Keshav Mahavidyalaya, who performed on the theme of societal discrimination. In the closely contested Fashion Parade, the teams from NID Gandhinagar and from NIFT, Ahmedabad were declaredas joint-winners.

Exclusive Femina Miss India 2014 auditions also took place at the IIM-A campus on December 27 with 18 year-old Nazia Dawison winning the event.

Day three too host various workshops including Kirigami, and Film Making workshops. The stage play event was won by Shahid Sukhdev College of Business Studies from Delhi University. Team from Lal Bahadur Shastri Institute of Management, Delhi, finished a close second. The highlight of day three was performance by Coke Studio artists Ram Sampath, Sonam Mahapatra, Sonu Kakkar and Samantha Edward.
