A few days to go for the Budget. BusinessLine sounded different categories of people to know what they expect from this Budget.

Increasing the spending for skill development programmes will benefit the students in enhancing their skills and helping them get employment easily. The existing schemes are still in the infant stage and need more support from the Budget.

Subsidies for developing and improving the infrastructure of warehouses can be provided. Also, the TDS rates for warehouse service charges should be brought down from the current 10 per cent to 2 per cent

More funds have to be allocated to increase the quality of education to ensure that the basic amenities like classrooms, toilets etc are made available for the students. Allocation for skill development programmes should also increase.

Income tax exemption slab for senior citizens can be raised to ₹4 lakh from ₹3 lakh. The medical expense deduction limits can also be raised for senior citizens
