Roe not taken

Planning to bring out your jar of caviar this New Year’s eve? LUXE tells you ways to serve — and eat — sturgeons’ eggs

Roasted potatoes

Place them next to a platter full of roasted baby potatoes. Ask your guests to spoon some caviar on to the spuds, and then pop them into the mouth.

Feta cheese

Decorate small pieces of feta cheese with caviar and serve.

Scrambled eggs

Perfect for breakfast, but not too bad as an appetiser either. Take some bread, toast them, cut them into small pieces and cover them with creamy scrambled eggs. And then lather them with caviar.

Smoked salmon

Ah, now you have your guests hooked. Take some smoked salmon, add a bit of lime juice over it, top with caviar. You will hear your guests sigh.

Crispy crackers

Works all the time. Smother a cracker with caviar and bite into it.

Just caviar

Don’t want to serve it with anything? Then keep a little spoon — perhaps the tiny one with the mother of pearl handle — next to the caviar, and let your guests scoop into the creamy fish roe — and ring in the New Year.
