Star-studded high profile events will be held across the world to celebrate the first International Day of Yoga on June 21 to spread the benefits of yoga and amplify the need for people to make healthier lifestyle choices. Last December, over 175 member-states of the United Nations endorsed a draft proposal from India to establish this historic day. Despite the controversy it has whipped up in India, the day will be marked by events in 251 cities across 191 nations, including a massive one at Rajpath in Delhi, expected to see over 35,000 participants. India will also release a stamp and ₹10 and ₹100 coins to mark the day.
