Pune co-op bank installs ebz Online's software

Pune , July 25

PUNE-based co-operative bank, Shree Suvarna Sanhakari Bank Ltd, took its first step towards high-tech banking by installing `Sarvatra', an anywhere money software system, developed by ebz Online Pvt Ltd.

The system would enable bank members to undertake banking transactions such as cash withdrawals, cash/cheque deposits, balance enquiries, etc. from any branch of the bank in any city. The customers can withdraw money irrespective of the city they are in by using a `point of sales' terminal.

"This is a cost effective option as compared to a completely centralised banking solution with ATMs, which is unviable for most co-operative banks, said Mr Mandar Agasha, MD, ebz Online. However, `Sarvatra' is technologically ready to work with any ATM in the country or the world, he added.

The bank also launched three other services — Easy message (to provide mobile banking facilities through SMS), Voice bank (to provide tele-banking facilities) and Infoki, an information kiosk that the bank can deploy at its branches to enable customers make queries.

The three services in addition to `Sarvatra' will be offered at all 12 branches of the bank in Maharasthra to begin with. ebz Online will be offering the products to all co-operative banks in India from July 24, said Mr Dnyaneshwar Agashe, Chairman of the bank.

Mr Mandar Agashe said the software would be launched in 35 branches and later extended to 80 locations.
