Eye surgeons' meet today

KOTTAYAM: The 31st State conference of the Kerala Society of Ophthalmic Surgeons, Drishti 2004, organised by the Kottayam Ophthalmic Society will be held here from November 26 to 28.

There will be seminars, interactive sessions, video and poster exhibitions, said Dr Sobhana Mohandas, retired professor of ophthalmology and Chairperson of the organising committee. Eminent eye specialists from Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka and Maharashtra will present papers.

A public meeting to be held at Sumangali Auditorium on November 26th evening will be inaugurated by Mr Mammen Mathew, Editor, Malayala Manorama. The State President, Dr E.J. Mani, will preside. Dr Raichal Jose M. D, Deputy Director, General Ophthalmology, New Delhi, in charge of the National Programme for Control of Blindness will deliver the keynote address. Dr B. Shaila Kumari and Dr Zacharia Thomas will be honoured at the meeting for their meritorious service at the Medical College Kottayam.
