Alliances & Joint Ventures Maples ESM to train Japanese engineers Our Bureau
Chennai , Aug. 16 Maples ESM Technologies would be tying up with the Kanazawa Government province in Japan to train Japanese engineers in the town of Uchinada, Japan, according to Mr N. Ram Subramani, President and Chief Executive Officer, Maples. He told presspersons that the company expects to train about 1,000 engineers in the next 18 months. Mr Mino Toshio, a member of the delegation of the Kanazawa Government, and Project Director of the tie-up, said that in 2007-08, the requirement for software engineers in Japan would fall short anywhere between 2 lakh and 3 lakh, since a lot of the people filling the posts currently were due to retire. This tie up would help address that need, he said. Currently, Maples has about 55 employees in the training division of the company, but will look to ramp this up to about 100 full-time employees in the next year.
