Software HCM tool boosts Oracle revenue L.N. Revathy
Coimbatore , Sept. 1 The rising demand for its Human Capital Management (HCM) tool appears to have triggered enterprise applications major Oracle's revenue growth in the Asia-Pacific Region. The company has registered a 71-per cent growth for the twelve-month ended May 2006 and attributes this to the high adoption of this tool. Sharing details with Business Line, Mr Subhamoy Sengupta, Senior Director (Application Sales), Oracle India Pvt Ltd, said in a competitive environment, people resource emerged as the most vital asset and its management, the greatest challenge. Companies need to map people-centric plans with business strategies. He said Oracle's HCM family of applications automated the entire recruit-to-retire process and helped enterprise align their workforce with strategic objectives. "These capabilities make good business sense considering that Asia has just recovered from a series of recession. And with enterprises looking for ways to increase productivity by improving workforce performance through better talent management, this solution would help enhance the organisation's capability to find, attract, retain and motivate the top talent. As companies grow, competition for products and services rise and demands on the people mount". HCM, according to him, was a key contributor to Oracle Asia Pacific's overall applications business. `The new licence revenue grew by a record 80 per cent. "Continuing uptake of PeopleSoft Enterprise HCM applications has also boosted the company's overall HCM momentum," he added.
`Global leader'
Meanwhile, analyst firm AMR Research has spotted Oracle as the global leader in HCM by revenue, with a 26 per cent share worldwide. The research showed that the companies that focused on advanced HCM processes registered higher levels of productivity than those with a non-focused people approach.
