Police fiat to browsing centres

Our Bureau

Kochi, Oct. 29

The City Police Commissioner has said that those providing facilities for the public to use the Internet should record the addresses and identities of the users. A register should be maintained to record the address, date and time of use and the IP address.

For proof of identity, ration card, PAN card, passport, election id card, driving licence or any photo identity card might be used. Action would be initiated against those not following these instructions.
