TCS: Betting on earnings

The Re 1-face value TCS stock, which inched up 1.8 per cent to close at Rs 1,181.25 on Monday, is being seen in the context of deals the company has been lately pursuing. The TCS management is known to have suggested in the second-quarter earnings call a robust growth and also indicated that the company was working at a number of contracts.

A section of the broking houses note that there has been a structural change in the IT sector, with a certain degree of reorientation in favour of larger players.

The stock trades at about 29.1x fiscal 2007 estimated earnings and 22.1x fiscal 2008 estimated earnings.
