IBM has launched `Project Big Green' in India. The initiative entails new products and services for IBM and its clients to reduce data centre energy consumption. The initiative is a part of its global `Intelligent Energy' campaign aimed at helping economies cope with energy crisis. Last month, the company had announced plans to redirect $1 billion a year globally to mobilise resources to increase the level of energy efficiency in IT. The campaign would be channelised through initiatives such as client innovations in energy; application of technology and services for energy efficiency; activities with energy influencers; and environmental efforts at the Big Blue.
