Genpact signs pact with Unitech

IT major Genpact on Friday signed an agreement with Unitech Hi-Tech Structures Ltd to take up over seven lakh sq. ft of space in Infospace, an IT/ITES SEZ that is being developed here by Unitech Hi-Tech Structures Ltd.

The agreement was signed at the Writers’ Buildings in the presence of the West Bengal Chief Minister, Mr Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee. Mr Prasoon Mukherjee, Chairman of Bengal Unitech Universal, and an authorised signatory of Unitech Hi-Tech Structures Ltd, and Mr Pramod Bhasin, Present & CEO of Genpact, were present to sign the agreement. Genpact will develop a campus on the seven lakh sq ft of space that will engage around 7,000 professionals when fully operational. The agreement is stated to be a “significant development for Genpact and Kolkata and will go a long way towards fulfilling the vision of converting Kolkata into a IT hub”, it has been stated.

The Unitech Group has plans to develop nearly 22 million sq ft of IT/ITES space at different places in the next three years. Of this, nearly 4.35 million sq ft will be developed in Kolkata.
