Apollo Sugar Clinics will open another 95 clinics in India at an investment of ₹50 lakh each in the next one year, said Gagan Bhalla, Chief Executive Officer.
Currently, there are 55 Apollo Sugar clinics. Addressing media persons today to announce Apollo Sugar International Diabetes Update 2017, a two-day event on Diabetes Management, Bhalla said it takes 18 months for a standalone clinic to break even.
Apart from the company-owned diabetes clinics, the organisation is working on two other formats. Bhalla said: “We want to work with general practitioners with clinics within a community in India.”
“We will offer our medical and technological expertise and manage the diabetic centre in their clinic,” he said. This not only helps the organisation expand their reach but also gain community trust. Right now, the company has partnered with five clinics and plans to take the count to 500 in the next three years.
Borderline diabetics and people looking for preventive care, can get in touch with Apollo Sugars and get their sugar under control by interacting with experts through virtual consultation. They can avail this service through call centres and an app built by Apollo Sugar Clinics.
The company is also in talks with overseas private and government organisations in West Asia, Malaysia and Philippines to open clinics there.
