Essar Shipping today said former Shipping Secretary Michael Pinto and erstwhile SCICI founder NC Singhal, who were independent directors on its board, have resigned.
MP Pinto and NC Singhal have resigned from directorship of the company effective from April 3, 2015 and April 6, 2015, respectively, the company said in a filing to the BSE.
However, the company did not state any reasons for their resignations.
Both Singhal and Pinto were appointed to the company’s board as independent directors in August 2013.
Michael Pinto is a former Shipping Secretary and former chairman of Jawaharlal Nehru Port Trust, while N.C Singhal is the founder of the erstwhile Shipping Credit and Investment Company of India Ltd (SCICI).
Essar Shipping shares were trading 2.09 per cent up at ₹22 per scrip during afternoon session on the BSE.
