Schaeffler, an automotive components manufacturer, has unveiled a concept car for Indian roads that it says has higher fuel efficiency.
The company has fitted an existing B-segment car with drive train features that it says helps achieve up to 10 per cent reduction in fuel consumption. It was showcased at an exhibition in Pune on Monday.
The company said it had tested the technology in Germany and it could be applied across a range of cars, said Joydeep Roy, President, (Automotive), Shaeffler India, and MD of the INA Bearings and LuK, said.
Dharmesh Arora, Managing Director and CEO, Schaeffler India said, “We are also developing new concepts and technologies for the two-wheeler and commercial vehicle segment. Our recent innovations include low-friction bearings and new range of clutches for motorcycles in India.”
Shaeffler is a provider of rolling bearing and plain bearing solutions for linear and direct drive technology, as well as a supplier of precision products and systems for engines, transmissions, and chassis applications for the auto industry.
