Nittsu Logistics (India), a wholly-owned subsidiary of Nippon Express Co Ltd, has inaugurated its warehouse in Sri City.
Yasunori Takahashi, Managing Executive Officer, and Regional General Manager of Nippon Express South Asia & Oceania, along with Seiji Baba, Consul General of Japan in Chennai, commissioned the warehouse.
Takahashi in a statement said while increasing the company's presence in India, they are aggressively developing business in South India.
He said Sri City serves as an all-weather cross dock centre for various local manufacturing and engineering industries and those located around Chennai.
Seiji Baba mentioned that more and more Japanese manufacturing companies prefer to set up their business in Andhra Pradesh. Nittsu's establishment in Sri City is very timely, he said.
The warehouse, which was built in about 26 acres in less than 9 months, has a built-up area of 20,094 sq. m.
The company plans to expand it with an investment of Rs 50 crore. This unit is 6th business location of Nittsu Logistics in India.
Nippon Express(India), a subsidiary of Tokyo-based Nippon Express Co, Ltd, had established Nittsu Logistics (India) in the country in 2011. Nittsu Logistics India is being positioned as a company specialising in domestic logistics.
