NMPT gets Greentech award

New Mangalore Port Trust (NMPT) has bagged the 13th Annual Greentech Environment-2012 award for port sector.

A press release said here on Tuesday that the New Delhi-based Greentech Foundation has instituted annual ‘Greentech Safety’ and ‘Greentech Environment’ and ‘Greentech HR’ awards to recognise, reward and to promote exceptional goals in the field of safety and all positive aspects of environmental responsibilities.

It said that the port has initiated environmental upgradation measures for sustainable development.

The measures are spearheaded by the Deputy Chairman of NMPT, T.S.N. Murthy, under the leadership of the NMPT Chairman, P. Tamilvanan, it added.
