London-based head-hunter portal BeatMySalary.com is in talks with leading venture capital firms in India and abroad, to raise about $2 million in the next couple of months.

Sector-agnostic, BeatMySalary (BMS) is a marketplace meant for senior professionals only. It was launched in India a month ago and will be using the funds to scale up and launch in other international markets in Europe as well as the US, this year. The company will also launch its mobile app next month.

Started by investment bankers Swash Ram and Karthik Prasad, BMS caters to the needs and requirements of recruitment agencies and companies to reach out to prospective candidates.

Methodology

“It is the only platform in the world, where recruiters can come shopping for talent. We have created a shopping experience for recruiters where they can add ‘candidate cards’ into a ‘reach-out basket’, and reach out using a job description in one go,” Swash said.

It is the first of its kind job board, where candidates do not go looking for available jobs but recruiters come looking for candidates.

In addition, it is the first of its kind in which recruiters get to know the candidate’s expectations and constraints upfront even before connecting with the candidate.

The candidate and recruiter are patched through a call with an online telephony system so that the candidate’s number remains confidential.

“This is a platform where senior professionals, mostly with 5-6 years of experience, and an annual package of above ₹8 lakh, can look for a job. The portal mainly targets passive job seekers in the industry who are generally comfortable in their current job,” Karthik, the other co-founder added.

The portal, started this year and still in the Beta mode, has already signed up 70 recruiters within 1 month of the launch, including blue chip companies like Amazon, Walmart lowes, Target corp, Justdial and IMS. It also has over 1,000 registered candidates within just 2 weeks of the launch.
