Imagine being able to power up your hand phone while zipping around on a two-wheeler without the bother of carrying around a heavy battery pack – here comes Power Aid.
This small electronic equipment, little bigger than a match box, can simply be connected to the motorcycle ignition and can be used to power your cell phone.
The inventor, Amam Arun, a 23-year-old has patented the product that could be a much-needed help for those spending most of the day out on work. Priced at ₹355, Power Aid is now available from the online retailer Amazon and will soon be available with the neighbourhood retailers in a couple of weeks.
The product has gone through several months of testing under real life conditions, he says.
Amam Technologies Pvt Ltd, a start-up of which he is the Founder and CEO, is registered with Nasscom and the product is patented.
Power Aid has two USB links so more than one unit can be powered. It can also power a range of electronic gadgets.
J Govindaraj, Director, Amam Technologies, says with over 50,000 two-wheelers hitting the streets daily and over 10 crore two-wheelers on the road, the potential market is huge.
He has funded the start-up with about ₹50 lakh and once they consolidate the domestic market, Power Aid could be exported to major two-wheeler markets like South East Asia.
