The arrival of new turmeric for sale has increased. “The arrival of Mysore Number 8 variety has increased to 800 bags on Monday and all the bags were procured by traders for a higher price.
Of the arrival of 3,600 bags, including the new turmeric, 2,700 were sold,” said RKV Ravishankar, President, Erode Turmeric merchants Association. The prices of the both varieties of turmeric were up ₹100 a quintal.
At the Erode Turmeric Merchants Association, the finger turmeric was sold at ₹8,312-10,077 a quintal and the root variety at ₹7,477-9,889. Of the arrival of 1,289 bags, 1,170 were sold.
