Pepper prices slipped on revived selling pressure from Karnataka following good export buying. Those having processing facilities in Vietnam were actively covering from Karnataka even farm grade pepper. Today 80 tonnes of pepper were traded at the terminal market of which 60 tonnes were from Karnataka and that was traded at ₹515-525 a kg. Kerala high range sellers were quoting ₹570. Spot prices fell today by ₹1,000 a quintal to ₹54,000 (ungarbled) and ₹57,000 (garbled). On the IPSTA platform, April contract also fell by ₹1,000 a quintal to ₹58,158. Export prices were at $9,600 a tonne c&f April shipments to Europe and $9,900 for the US.
