Spot pepper continued to slip on Friday as buyers were asking for lower rates. Activities were limited. Exchange released pepper was being offered at ₹700 a kg delivered anywhere in India, while Karnataka was offering its pepper at a competitive price of ₹695.
On the terminal market, 10 tonnes were traded at ₹692-702 a kg. Spot prices slipped further by ₹100 a quintal to ₹69,200 (ungarbled) and ₹72,200 (garbled). Active contracts on the IPSTA remained steady. Export prices were at $10,800 a tonne c&f for Europe and $11,050 for the US.
