Sugar prices ruled steady as physical demand remained need-base and routine. Producers also came forward with selling the commodity at prevailing rates. Prices on the Vashi spot market, naka and mill level ruled unchanged with limited activities. Arrivals were at 61-62 truck loads and local dispatches were at 60-61loads. On Thursday, about 13-14 mills offered tenders and sold about 44,000-45,000 bags at ₹2,560-2,650 (2,560-2,650) for S-grade and ₹2,650-2,780 (2,650-2,780) for M-grade.
The Bombay Sugar Merchants Association’s spot rates: S-grade ₹2,692-2,822 (2,692-2,822) and M-grade ₹2,792-2,942 (2,792-2,942). Naka delivery rates: S-grade ₹2,580-2,630 (2,580-2,630) and M-grade ₹2,740-2,850 (2,740-2,850).
