Veer Energy and Infrastructure Ltd plans to develop a 10-MW solar or hybrid power project in Maharashtra. In a notice to the exchanges, the company said it has received approval from the Maharashtra Energy Development Agency to develop the project at its existing wind farm project in Dhule. The company, which hopes to benefit from the government’s policy to boost renewable power generation, plans to convert its existing wind farms in Rajasthan and Gujarat to hybrid power projects. Shares of the BSE-listed Veer Energy jumped 13.2 per cent to ₹32.15 on the BSE.

Great Eastern Shipping Company has informed the exchanges that the board of Greatship (India) Ltd, wholly owned subsidiary, has granted in-principle approval for the merger of its arm Greatship Global Holdings Ltd, Mauritius, with itself. The merger would be subject to requisite statutory approvals. On GGHL’s merger with GIL, Greatship Global Offshore Services Pte Ltd. (a wholly owned subsidiary of GGHL) will become a direct wholly owned subsidiary of GIL. The proposed merger does not lead to any benefit to the promoter group of the company in any way, the statement added. The stock of GE Shipping slipped 0.47 per cent to ₹384.50 on the BSE.
