After 13 years with HSBC, Naina Lal Kidwai is set to retire from her position as Chairman HSBC India, with effect from December 31, 2015.
“She will also step down from her position of Executive Director on the Board of HSBC Asia-Pacific,” HSBC said in a statement.
Naina joined HSBC in 2002 as Vice-Chairman and Managing Director at HSBC Securities and Capital Markets, India, and was appointed a Group General Manager of the bnk in 2006. She took over as CEO of HSBC India in 2007 and as Chairman of HSBC India in 2009.
Kidwai said: “My 13 years with the HSBC Group have been a wonderful and rewarding journey. I will genuinely miss each and every one of the outstanding employees who make HSBC such a unique and special place to work. Having reached retirement age, it is time for me to move to different pursuits. I intend to spend more time in the areas of women empowerment and water and sanitation where I have been engaged over the last decade in different capacities.”
Peter Wong, Chief Executive of HSBC Asia-Pacific said: "I want to take this opportunity to thank Naina on behalf of all her colleagues for her service to HSBC over the last 13 years. During this period, she has served HSBC with distinction in a number of senior roles, and we wish her every success for the future.”
