State Bank of Travancore (SBT) has launched the Mudra credit card, a new financial product under the Pradhan Mantri Mudra Yojana.
The card is meant to extend credit support to millions of micro enterprises in the non-farm sector, an SBT spokesman said.
Chief General Manager (retail banking) EK Hari Kumar launched the card at the suburban Poonthura branch of the bank here on Tuesday. A mega credit camp was organised alongside, which was replicated in 38 other centres across the country.
Hari Kumar distributed Mudra credit cards to first five beneficiaries and also issued 21 sanction letters for Mudra loans. M Deviprasad, general manager (network-I), SBT, presided over the function.
