Regional rural bank employees have called a three-day strike from Tuesday demanding pension parity with commercial banks. They are also protesting the government proposal to delink their salary structure from that of their counterparts in bigger banks. The RRB employees’ association said 88,000 bank staff would observe the protest.

Coal India Ltd will put on offer 2.15 mt per annum of coal linkages for the cement sector from June 28. The company began the process of electronic auction of the coal linkages or fuel supply agreements with the sponge iron sector eligible in the bidding held between June 10 and June 16. While demand has been tepid, Coal India expects an improvement from the cement sector.

Finance Minister Arun Jaitley will meet industry associations today to clear doubts about the four-month window provided to holders of undeclared wealth to come clean. The Finance Minister will explain provisions as well as clear misgivings about the one-time compliance window provided to domestic black money holders to pay their taxes and escape harsher penalties.

The Karnataka High Court is to resume hearing today a petition filed by app-based taxi aggregator Uber, which has prayed for quashing the new Karnataka On-demand Transportation Technology Aggregators Rule, 2016, which requires cab aggregators to take a licence to offer their services and not collect a higher price from customers.

The European Parliament will hold an extraordinary plenary session on Tuesday "to adopt a resolution assessing the outcome" of the UK referendum. EU Commission President Jean-Claude Juncker and Council representatives will take part.
