The Service Tax Department has scheduled the auction of liquor baron Vijay Mallya's private jet for June 29-30. Earlier, the department deferred the auction scheduled for May 12-13 after just one potential bidder showed interest. The department had invited bidders globally for the auction to get the maximum sale price in its attempt to recover dues from the Mallya-promoted Kingfisher Airlines.

A six-day preparatory camp for Team India will begin today at the NCA, Bengaluru. The Indian team is to play a four-match Test series in the West Indies beginning July 21. This would be India’s first series under new coach Anil Kumble. Sanjay Bangar will accompany the team as batting coach and Abhay Sharma as fielding coach.

Andhra Pradesh ministers are to begin working out of the Interim Secretariat Complex at Velagapudi in Guntur from today. The Ministers would arrive to assume charge at their plush new offices at the appointed time of 2.59 p.m. The six lakh square feet complex has come up in a record 120 days.

The Cabinet is expected to take up the recommendations of the Seventh Pay Commission today. According to reports, the Prime Minister has directed the Finance Ministry to implement the Pay Commission for government employees, and place the Empowered Group of Secretaries report on the central government employees' salary and allowances hike in the Cabinet meeting on Wednesday.

Hearing in the fodder scam case is to be taken up again on Wednesday. The RJD president Lalu Prasad and two former MPs appeared before a special CBI court in Ranchi on June 13 in connection the case. Prasad appeared before the court of Shivpal Singh in connection with 38A/96 case pertaining to fraudulent withdrawal of Rs 3.31 crore from Dumka treasury in undivided Bihar during the 1990s.
