Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah on Friday said the BJP-led Central Government has not achieved much during its three years of governance.

“The Central government led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi completed three years in office, but has not achieved much except its slogan ‘ Sabka Saath Sabka Vikas ’,” Siddaramaiah told newspersons at a meet-the-press programme here.

“The BJP government ignored the aspiration of (certain) sections of people. If not, why was not even a single Muslim given a ticket in the Uttar Pradesh elections,” he questioned.

With the BJP at the Centre and in all BJP-ruled States, Muslims and Christians are left out of electoral and social-welfare schemes. “While in Karnataka, the Congress government treats all sections of society equally,” Siddaramaiah said.

The Chief Minister claimed that the Congress government in Karnataka, which completed four years in office, performed better than the Central government.

“We believe that to ensure social justice, caste or creed should not come in the way. We have fulfilled 155 of the 165 promises made before the 2013 Assembly elections, and the remaining will be fulfilled before seeking fresh mandate in 2018 election,” Siddaramaiah said.

The Chief Minister listed out the failed promises of the Modi government, saying Modi had promised to bring back black money stashed in foreign bank accounts and to credit lakhs in the accounts of common man, but it never happened.

“He promised ‘ Achche Din ’, but nothing has happened so far. The demonetisation exercise resulted in the Union government giving people newly designed ₹2,000 and ₹500 notes. It did not serve the purpose, but only caused misery for the common man during the transition. It was a failure.” he said.
