The Petroleum and Natural Gas Regulatory Board (PNGRB) has invited bids for development of city gas distribution network in 34 geographical areas and cities.
Up for grab will be licences for four areas in Madhya Pradesh, eight in Uttar Pradesh, eight in Gujarat, two in Maharashtra, three in Haryana, two in Karnataka, three in Punjab and one each in Uttarakhand and Goa.
Sale of bid documents will start from October 13 with the last date of bid issuance being December 7. Bid closing date will be December 14.
In the previous round of bids, 20 city gas distribution licences were under the hammer for 20 geographical areas. Out of these, 10 areas were withdrawn due to lack of bids. The winners
IndianOil-Adani Gas’ joint venture won licences for network in two areas – Dharwad in Karnataka and Udham Singh Nagar in Uttarakhand. GAIL Gas Ltd won the licence for Haridwar, Uttarakhand and the joint venture of Andhra Pradesh Gas Distribution Corporation and HPCL in East Godavari and West Godavari districts.
Further, three licences were won by Megha Engineering & Infrastructure Ltd. The other winners are yet to be announced.
