Rajasthan government is mulling to introduce monorail in Jaipur, Kota and Jodhpur to improve public transport system.
State Urban Development and Housing Minister Shanti Dhariwal said he recently visited Malaysia to study operations of the system and a team would soon visit the city to understand the functionality of the monorail.
“We intend to start monorail in three cities of Jaipur, Kota and Jodhpur. It would be under PPP mode and a team of engineers would visit the city to prepare its report,” Dhariwal told reporters here today.
In Jaipur, the areas which are not covered by the Metro rail project, which is underway, would be covered by the monorail, he said.
However, scope for this will be examined in a survey to be carried out by the firm, he said.
