With a view to catching them young, the Indus Entrepreneurs (TiE) will hold a workshop for high school students in the age group of 9-12 to equip them with entrepreneurial skills.
The TiE Young Entrepreneurs (TYE) Entrepreneurial Education programme will have four-hour sessions over 12 Sundays.
It will give the students a sneak peek into entrepreneurship by exposing them to the processes involved in setting up business ventures.
The TYE programme was formally launched by Telangana IT and Industries Principal Secretary Jayesh Ranjan on Friday.
Encouraging job creators“If we want to see more entrepreneurs, we need to support schools and help their students engage with the business community in entrepreneurial education in a sustainable manner,” Pradeep Mittal, President, TiE Hyderabad, said here on Friday. “There is a strong need to encourage job creators and catch them early,” said Ranjan after launching the programme.
The programme will have a business plan competition with cash prizes at the regional level.
Winner of the local business plan competition gains an opportunity to win a Grand Prize of $10,000 in the Global Competition.
The last date of submitting applications to join the programme is July 31, a TiE executive said.
