Another noteworthy launch at the India Bike Week was the new Indian Scout Bobber, from the iconic scout family of motorcycles from American motorcycle-maker Indian. The bike looks ready for the streets, with a domineering, no-nonsense sort of design with its minimal engine covers and chopped fenders. The Scout Bobber has what Indian calls ‘Blacked out styling’. Well, what it essentially implies is plenty of matte-finish black to highlight its looks. There’s a black double exhaust and a black gauge face on its instrument panel.
The foot pegs and the handlebar have moved in closer to the rider by 38 mm for a more aggressive riding position, according to Indian. The bike also gets a a new two-tone genuine leather bobber seat. It is powered by a 1,133 cc liquid cooled V-Twin engine that makes 127.8 ps of power and is mated to a six-speed transmission system. The Indian Scout gets Kenda K761 Knobbly tyres that are also black to go with the overall look of the motorcycle. It is available at ₹12,99,000 (ex-showroom).
