China Sunergy, which produces solar modules, expects to double its sales in India in 2012, sources in the company have said.
The Chinese company made news in India last month by announcing that it was willing to bring in equity and debt funds to the aid of its customers in India. The company also said it would set up an office in India (Mumbai).
In 2011, China Sunergy sold about 35 MW of modules, which accounted for 8.7 per cent of its sales. In the current year, it expects to see its total shipments to rise to 550 MW (from 420 MW in 2011). India will account for 13 per cent of its sales, it hopes.
