FMCG giant Hindustan Unilever has posted a 6.46 per cent increase in its consolidated net profit at Rs 2,296.05 crore for the year ended March 31, 2011.

The company had clocked a consolidated net profit of Rs 2,156.63 crore during the year ended March 31, 2010, HUL said in a filing to the Bombay Stock Exchange.

HUL has announced a total dividend of Rs 6.50 per equity share of Re 1 face value for the year. It had earlier paid an interim dividend of Rs 3 per share on November 15, 2010.

During the fiscal, the company’s consolidated net sales stood at Rs 19,691.02 crore, a 10.8 per cent jump from Rs 17,764.27 crore in the previous fiscal.

On a standalone basis, HUL’s net profit during the quarter stood at Rs 2,305.97 crore, up 4.7 per cent from Rs 2,202.03 crore in the year-ago period. Its standalone net sales increased to Rs 19,401.11 crore from Rs 17,523.80 crore.

While HUL did not announce the consolidated figures for the quarter ended March 31, 2011, the company’s standalone net profit for the period stood at Rs 569.15 crore, a marginal 2 per cent decline from Rs 581.20 crore in the year-ago period.

For the year-ended March 31, 2011, the company’s standalone net sales increased by 13.5 per cent to Rs 4,899.35 crore from Rs 4,315.75 crore.
