Electrical equipment manufacturer Havells India Ltd has expanded its switchgear manufacturing operations by putting up an additional plant in Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh at an investment of Rs 50 crore.
Post expansion, the company said it plans to double the revenue from its switchgear segment to Rs 1,800 crore from Rs 900 crore over the next three years, a company statement said. The industrial switchgear segment, which currently contributes Rs 200 crore, is also expected to double at Rs 400 crore within the next two years, it added.
On the expansion plans, Mr Sunil Sikka, President, Havells India Ltd, said, “This new factory will give us an incisive edge over competition due to better efficiencies in the systems backed by large-scale automated operations and focus on the high end switchgear.”
