Rado, the pioneering Swiss watchmaker and part of The Swatch Group conglomerate, has unveiled its high-end range of products for the first time in Kerala.
Mr Olivier Cosandier, Vice-President, Sales, Rado, formally introduced the ‘High Jewellery Collection' at the Malabar Gold showroom here on Tuesday in the presence of Mr M. P. Ahammed, Chairman, Malabar Gold.
EXCLUSIVE SELECTION
Rado high-end collection offers an exclusive selection of the brand's most celebrated products. The glitter of the fully hi-tech ceramic watch Rado sintra, the iconic Rado Ceramica, and the classic linear perfection of Rado Integral wowed onlookers.
Mr Coasandier said that south India has always been a market for high importance for Rado. “This is one of our key markets and I'm delighted to present some of our special pieces here. These refined Rado luxury timepieces reflect the expertise and creativity of the brand,”
South India has been a big market for Rado products and the exhibition has been planned to coincide with the wedding season, they said.
The company is not, however, expecting to clinch any sales during the road show, which would travel to Kochi next.
The pricey product line may prove beyond the ‘range' of a vast majority of the society, but the watchmaker seeks to address the heightened aspirations of the high-networth individuals from among non-residents and the neo-rich from the plantation/commodities sector.
BRAND AWARENESS
The company intends to build brand awareness in the State, parts of which ‘do not even know' about the brand of the unique range of products it has to offer.
A spokesman said that Rado has been associated with the Malabar Group for over a decade. The exhibition will celebrate this long association and cherish the growing relationship. He added that the brand has pioneered high-tech materials such as hardmetal, high-tech lanthanum, high-tech diamond, high-tech ceramics and ceramos.
Rado was the first brand to produce convex, dome-shaped sapphire crystals, affording watch shapes ‘that take the hazards of the wearer's fast-paced lifestyles in their stride.'
