Ambarish Dasgupta, Consulting Leader of PwC India, has joined KPMG as its head of management consulting vertical.

As Dasgupta would primarily be located in the city, Kolkata would become the hub of KPMG’s management consulting business in India, sources told Business Line.

Dasgupta has formally taken up the responsibility on Monday.

For PricewaterhouseCoopers Pvt Ltd (PwC), where he spent 15 years as Consulting Leader and a member of the India Leadership Team, Dasupta operated mainly out of Kolkata.

Top-level changes

KPMG on Monday announced this major strategic change. Two promotions were also announced.

“These movements within the core leadership team are in sync with KPMG’s long-term aggressive growth plans to adapt to ever-changing market dynamics,” the company said in a statement.

KPMG said Shalini Pillay would head the Human Resources function. She is with the firm for over nine years now. Shalini will be instrumental in charting the roadmap for KPMG’s “people agenda” in India.

She will manage all the aspects of the HR function, encompassing manpower planning, organisation design and development, talent management, learning and development, performance management, rewards and recognition and employee relations.

KPMG has also promoted Vikram Hosangady as the head of Private Equity wing. Vikram will also continue to head the Transaction Services practice, where he holds the merit of working on over 150 transactions both in India and overseas.
