Apollo Hospitals net profit rose by 61.26 per cent to Rs 47.09 crore during the fourth quarter ended March 31, 2011.

The net profit stood at Rs 29.2 crore during the same period last fiscal, Apollo Hospitals Enterprise said in a filing to the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE).

The total income rose to Rs 621.40 crore during the fourth quarter ended March 31, 2011, from Rs 482.9 crore in the same period previous fiscal.

For the year ended March 31, 2011, the company posted a net profit of Rs 181.72 crore against Rs 151.97 crore in the last fiscal.

Total income for the year ended March 31, 2011, rose to Rs 2,331.96 crore from Rs 1,825.78 crore in the previous fiscal.

The company’s board, which met today, has recommended a dividend of Rs 3.75 per share (75 per cent) for the financial year ended 2010-11.

The Chennai-headquartered group’s consolidated profit for the year ended March 31, 2011, rose to Rs 183.92 crore from Rs 137.57 crore in the last fiscal.

Meanwhile, the shares of Apollo Hospitals ended at Rs 484.65 on the BSE, up 0.99 per cent from the previous close.
