Pick up in the sale of commercial vehicles and a better export performance lifted the overall performance of Bajaj Auto Ltd in November 2014.
But the company witnessed a marginal decline in its motorcycle sales during November as against the same month last year and its total sales during the month also was almost flat.
Motorcycle: In a communication to the stock exchanges, BAL said that it sold 2,61,948 motorcylces (2,78,703 units) during November 2014, a 6 per cent decline.
CV: But the company witnessed a surge in the sale of commercial vehicles at 47,311 units (31,888), a huge 48 per cent jump. It was the highest ever CV sales for any November for BAL.
Total sales/exports : But the total sale at 3,09,259 units was nearly flat when compared to 3,10,591 units it sold during November 2013.
Exports witnessed a huge jump at 1,65,733 units (1,33,731 units), a 24 per cent increase. This is the highest ever exports for any November for BAL.
On a cumulative basis, the company sold 27,39,288 vehicles (both motorcycles and CVs) during April-November period during the current fiscal as compared to 26,36,519 units during the corresponding period last year, a 4 per cent increase. Exports also kept up the surge going up to 12,85,340 units during this period this fiscal as compared to 10,35,346 units exported during April-Nov period last year, a 24 per cent increase.
Shares of BAL are trading at Rs 2605.90, a fall of Rs 29.50, on the BSE.
