Ceat's Halol plant has received a five-star rating from the British Safety Council (BSC), making it the first tyre manufacturing plant in India to receive this award.
This is the highest grading awarded by BSC in its Occupational Health & Safety (OH&S) Management System Audit, the company said in a statement.
“This achievement is a testament to Ceat’s continuous endeavour and commitment towards protecting the health and safety of its employees. This also demonstrates our commitment to continually improve on these counts,” said Arnab Banerjee, Executive Director-Operations, Ceat.
The audit, conducted using BSC’s international five-star audit numerical safety grading system, measured OH&S performance against a number of key indicators. BSC placed a great emphasis on the plant’s approach to safety culture, occupational health, employee well-being, allocation of resources to health and safety and planning for change.
